Hundreds of members of Rotary Club of Kigali Golf gathered on Friday evening at Landmark One House in Kigali for the 2026–2027 presidential installation ceremony and fundraising gala dinner, where the organization unveiled a major healthcare initiative aimed at improving cancer treatment services in Rwanda.

During the event, club leaders announced a fundraising campaign seeking to raise $250,000 to purchase a specialized medical machine that will be donated to CHUK before the end of 2026. The equipment is expected to support treatment for patients suffering from prostate cancer and kidney stones, conditions that continue to affect a growing number of people across the country.
Newly installed President Julie Umutoni said the initiative was introduced in response to increasing demand for affordable and accessible specialized treatment. She noted that the machine will help reduce treatment costs and improve access to care, with services expected to be available under Rwanda’s community-based health insurance scheme, Mutuelle de Santé.

Beyond healthcare, the club highlighted its broader community outreach efforts, including a clean water project that benefited more than 8,000 residents in Gashora Sector, Bugesera District.
Rotary Club of Kigali Golf said it remains committed to supporting national development through health, education, and social welfare initiatives.
