Ugandan singer Pius Mayanja, widely known as Pallaso, has officially endorsed presidential hopeful Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu (Bobi Wine) and his party, the National Unity Platform (NUP), ahead of the 2026 elections.
Pallaso visited Bobi Wine’s offices, declaring his full support. He stated he was “very happy to be part of these historic times,” viewing the fight as one for all marginalized Ugandans, not just Bobi Wine. He pledged, “You as my President and NUP as my party have all my support.”

Bobi Wine thanked Pallaso for prioritizing the nation’s welfare over the comforts of celebrity, noting the importance of artists’ voices in the struggle.
This move creates a split within Pallaso’s own family. His brothers, Dr. Jose Chameleone and Weasel Manizo, previously supported Bobi Wine but later switched their allegiance to the ruling NRM party of long-time President Yoweri Museveni.
Pallaso’s decision marks a significant, high-profile shift in the political landscape as Uganda prepares for its next presidential election cycle.
